A dry morning with very light breeze and mild temperatures made for perfect conditions for the first club duathlon of the year. We were delighted to have 25 athletes out for the race, many attempting duathlon for the first time. Pamela Zarb was in top form and with a speedy first run leg, blistering bike and lightening fast final run she couldn't be caught and cruised home to take first place in the ladies race with Eleanor Rooney's strong performance giving her second while Martina Coughlin, in her first duathlon finished in 3rd position. In the men's race, an incredible performance by Noel Hoey, after running Omagh Half Marathon just yesterday, saw him taking first place, with Paul McGee's strong running helping him secure second while it was eyeballs out for Canice Nicholas, another of yesterday's Half Marathon runners, to secure third place.

Well done to all who raced and thanks to our marshals and helpers and to Ann for sponsoring first prize in both categories. Our next duathlon will take place on 22nd April at the Lakeside with distances to be confirmed.
