Good conditions this evening with light winds meant times were mostly faster for the second time trial of our Summer TT Series. Eleanor Rooney was still unbeatable in the ladies race despite a half marathon and 70km bike session on Sunday. After losing out by 12 seconds last week to Sarah O'Malley Daly, Regina Magee put in a great effort to pull ahead taking second place from Sarah in third by 14 seconds. Both Ann Morrow and Martina Coughlin made great improvements taking almost 1 minute 30 off last week's times while Mary Hoey with a new tyre (thanks to Tony and Gerry), took over two minutes off last weeks time. Maura McGauran had a great cycle for her first time trial finishing with an excellent time of 33:38 and is one to watch in the upcoming TTs.
In the mens race, the every powerful Aidan Ferguson marked his return to MSC TT racing with a super 24:24, leaving Gabriel Timoney once again having to settle for second place ahead of a strong cycle from Canice Nicholas in third. Well done to all who raced and thanks to the marshals and time keepers who were delighted to see strict observance of the drafting regulations by all trialists this evening.
Next TT is on Wednesday, 31st May and will be a 20km individual TT. Thanks Lauren Cleary for the photos this evening.
