Rory Connor made a comeback with style taking the win today from Paul Ryan despite a tight race which saw the two neck in neck until the final run leg. A technical issue towards the end of the the bike leg left Gerry McManus fighting to regain his third position but he wasn’t giving up and easily took third place. The new and expertly planned running course clearly suited Eleanor Rooney who took first place in the ladies race with Pamela Zarb bravely battling for second and Ann Morrow and Ruby Hurst teaming up to take third place. Well done to all who came out today and in particular to Ruairi, Stevie and Frank on their first duathlon. Today’s distances were 2.8km, 16km & 2.8km.
