Congratulations to members who were recently in Marathon Action.

Well done to our Secretary, Martin Caldwell, Sean Hawkshaw, Canice Nichols and Andy Hodgson, all who completed New York, with some great times.

Specially well done to our Treasurer, Mel Casserly, who posted a terrific 2.55 in the Dublin Marathon.

There will be some interesting run times for this gang next year after all that run training.

posted 21 Jul 2009 07:38 by member queries   [ updated 21 Jul 2009 08:11 ]

It's been a very busy few weeks with members in action in various events all over the country.

Well done the Pat Touhy with his second place in Mullaghmore, followed up with fourth in Sligo Metalman.

Some great times posted too by Ciaran Mulligan, Sean Flannery, Ronan MacNamara, John Hanley, John McSharry & many others, too numerous to mention.

Well done too to those  who completed their first event -  here's hoping it's just the start of a new addiction that the rest of us have already been afflicted with.

Barry & Niall made the trip to Trithlone and both posted good times and enjoyed the buzz of the big occasion - definately an event worth doing.

Biggest congratulations must go to Vinny Duffy & Tony Cummins who completed ironman Austria in seering heat.

If anyone would like to do a race report on an event they've done we'd be delighted to post it - send it to queries@msctri.com

On Sunday, 22nd March it was the turn of our endurance men, who after spending Saturday along the half marathon route in Omagh supporting the club’s athletes, headed for the wild beauty of Connemara to take part in the Ultra marathon. Vinny Duffy and Tony Cummins, who have been logging severe miles along the picturesque shore of Lough Melvin in recent weeks, saw the hard work rewarded with excellent performances. Vinny with 6.16.58 and Tony with 6.57.16 on the clock were both delighted with their performance. Both men were using the Ultra distance as part of their preparation for the European Ironman that rakes place in Austria in July this year. Well done lads.

So say all of us!
